The Tell-Tale Heart, by Edgar Allan Poe. This is the tale of a man who is obsessed with an eye of an old man. The character feels that the eye is evil and he has to get rid of it.
The character is undescribable, he seems very paranoid about this old mans eye. The eye drives him crazy. Every time that he looks into the eye, he wants to dig it out with his bare hands. He thinks about killing the man all the time, he watches the old man in his sleep, thinking about the eye. He speaks with evil in his thoughts, he talks as if he's a "mad man". If you ever read the Tell-Tale Heart, then you know that the man was questioned by the police, because someone heard screams coming from the house. The man stayed as calm as he would any other day, but there was something he was hiding, the screams came from the old man because he finally got the nerve to end his misery of looking into that old mans' eye.
The character is having a conflict with another human being. He is fighting this old man because he has a so called "evil eye". This is on going until he kills the old man. He then has to fight the fact that he killed this old man and stuffed him in the floor boards.
